Soft and skinny is wispy Tern, a blend of wool and tussah silk. The yarn’s muted palette – think vintage painted photographs – results from the way in which the different fibers absorb dye. The wool portion colors thoroughly, but the silk is barely tinted. It’s good for socks, scarves, mitts, hats, and any sweater that loves a little drape.
Rauma TUMI is a blend of 50% Superfine Alpaca and 50% Wool. It is a fingering/sport weight yarn depending on the needle size used and the desired drape. You can substitute in any pattern that calls for Finullgarn, making this a great softer alternative for those that want to work on colorwork project without using a traditional sticky wool. Please note that Tumi has less yardage per ball so if substituting please double check the yardage requirements.
