Brown Sheep Yarns are permanently moth proofed using a non-insecticide chemical called Ecolan CEA to moth-proof othe wool. It is added to the dye bath at the same time as the dyes and is “permanent” in the sense that it will not wash, rub, or dry clean off the wool. The treatment works as an insect resist agent by making the wool protein unpalatable to the wool moth larvae.

Quince & Co. Tern

Quince & Co. Tern

Soft and skinny is  wispy Tern, a blend of wool and tussah silk. The yarn’s muted palette – think vintage painted photographs – results from the way in which the different fibers absorb dye. The wool portion colors thoroughly, but the silk is barely tinted. It’s good for socks, scarves, mitts, hats, and any sweater that loves a little drape.
